Welcome to Launch Effect v2.26 Lite! Launch Effect Lite lets you create and customize a viral landing page at the click of a few buttons. Version 2.26 includes some important stability fixes and speed improvements, tweaks to the theme’s responsive styling, and large improvements to the way the theme handles the generation of meta data for Facebook sharing, as well as the theme’s ability to place nice with popular SEO plugins. Be sure to check out the Launch Effect > Designer > Global Settings panel for more information. Take a look around to see what’s new and launch something today!

If you’re after a full-featured theme that still has the ease of customization and viral linking powers that you’ve come to love about Launch Effect Lite be sure to check out Launch Effect Premium!

Please feel free to contact us at our support forums if you have questions about setup or are experiencing any issues with the theme.

Setup in Two Easy Steps

Step 1 — Set Your Launch Page as your Homepage

Go to Settings > Reading.
Where it says, “Front page displays,” choose “A static page,” and select “Sign-Up” from the dropdown menu. When you refresh this page, it will disappear and your launch page will appear instead.

Step 2 — Start Designing!

Go to Launch Effect > Designer.
Now for the fun part! The Designer is now divided into three sections: Global Styles, Sign-Up Page, and Theme (premium only). That submenu is located directly under the giant Designer/Integrations/Stats tabs. The best way to get started here is to just start playing around and gaining an understanding of what selections affect which parts of the design. Good luck!

Signaflo’s second release – melodic but heavy dubstep. Influenced by grime, trap, hiphop & metal, somejerk fuses the styles into something new. “Rising Down” has a gritty synth lead that is accompanied by syncopated high hats, a soaring electric guitar & heavily filtered bass line. “Black & Blue” has a massive lead bass line that pushes the track thru synth stabs and emotional piano notes and a surprise upbeat ending.

I’m stoked to announce the release of a new compilation from the Toronto, CA based blog Walmer Convenience.

You can download my song – “That Beat” here and grab the other songs from the player below.

Here is our free Winter Bass compilation to help get you through the cold desolate months with good music. Or maybe you live in a warm place and it never gets that cold and winter is meaningless to you. Personally we at Walmer love the snow and ice. It makes you not take things for granted and also let’s you wear different clothes at different parts of the year. But this is a compilation of music, not temperature.

Our philosophy behind this comp was pretty fucking simple: no moombahton or trap. We love those genres but find they’ve been overexposed, especially by our fucking site. This gives us a chance to not only bring to you new music but work with new people with a lot of talent. We got juke and ghettotech and kuduro and a whole bunch of other great shit inside. Check it out below and grab the whole thing from the link underneath!

Let me be the one millionth person to wish you a Happy New Year and if I am the first let me just say that you should probably make some friends. 2012 was pretty good, I made more music this year than any other (well, finished) and had quite a few spectacular gigs. If I was to try to thank everyone individually for supporting me I’d be here for way too long and would of course forget a few names so fuck it – thank you for reading this and thank you to anyone that has ever shared my music with others. It means everything to come across a new circle of people and have them already know about my sound.

My first move this year is to give away a song that I worked very hard on for a very long time but unfortunately lost the project file for that had the final arrangement. I fear it’s a little over worked, a little over-limited but because I put so much time and energy into the song, it must get out there. It cannot exist only in mind or I will go craze.

So here we are – Harsh Reality.

This year I made a very conscious decision to prioritize producing and finishing music, over pretty much everything else. Club DJing has been put on the back burner for the most part, though I have been playing regularly for 13 hours every week at a South Beach clothing store. I can honestly say my mixing has gotten way tighter, I can play just about any genre now without second guessing myself and I have begun using Serato Scratch in more technical ways. To continually get DJ gigs I find that I have to regularly put out mixes, mixes that contain mostly other people’s music. I realize that I don’t want to just be a guy sharing other people’s music, though I enjoy that. I realize that I am a producer first, and a DJ second. It is important to know what you want out of something in order to not get disappointed with it and eventually stop. So this is where I am at, focusing on being a better producer for a variety of genres. My goal is to make all of my money through producing and while it’s taking me a while to get to this point, I know that I am on my way and the steps are in front of me.

However, making the decision to focus on DJing versus chasing gigs is tough. You want to play for people, you want to share in a very real, physical way what you’ve been cooking in your lab and it’s hard to not jump at every opportunity to play. I have come to realize and fully accept that I really only have so much of an attention span and that if I am going to finish music at the level of quality I need it to be at, it has to be on my mind all the time.

Once I get in this mode, I don’t want to go out, I don’t want to go to the store and get food, I don’t even want to eat the food in my apartment. All I want to do is get the snare to sound fatter, the bass rounder and get my pre-master mixes as prime as they can be for the mastering guy. All that is on my mind or of concern is finishing music, if I am to enter this mode. It’s hard but the good news is I really do enjoy being by myself and making things, whether it’s producing music or designing or drawing. I find peace in this solitude and am able to use it to take me to new places.

So yea, 2013. I’ve got quite a few things lined up for Signaflo, my label. I am introducing new artists, remixing myself and releasing the music of some of my friends. But first, from myself, I’ve got these releases pending:

SFLO-002 somejerk – “Rising Down” b/w somejerk “Black & Blue”
SFLO-003 somejerk – “Miami” b/w somejerk – “DMF”
SFLO-004 somejerk & Space Doubt – “Smoking Triangles” EP
SFLO-005 somejerk – “Keep It Underground” EP

You can hear some of these tracks here:

Thank you for reading, I’d be surprised if anyone read all of this but maybe explaining what I am going through as a music lover and producer to others can help them navigate through this sea of directions more promptly then I have. I’ve learned a lot of things, most of it the hard way, due to being hard headed and lacking confidence. But the secret to all of this, to getting good at making music, DJing, or anything really, is very simple and beautiful. All that you have to do is do it, whatever it is that you want to get good at.

Ohm Resistance/ Onset Audio/ Shift Recordings

SST is a forward thinking & innovative electronic music producer. Although mostly known for his drum & bass work with releases on labels such as Ohm Resistance, Nemesis, Cymbalism, Habit, & Apparatus Recordings his creative output cannot be confined to one genre. With recent releases on Onset Audio and a nu-skool breaks release on Bomtraxx he has proven to be a very diverse artist. After years of releasing music as the production team The Chosen along side Genr8 and long time partner Glitch he branched out on the solo route to expand his production into other areas including Dubstep & Breaks. In March of 2010 his debut solo album, “Stepping Through Shadows”, was released on Ohm Resistance. The album is a unique producer perspective – combining both dubstep and drum n bass and highlighting the genuine similarities in their construction and form. With recent releases on Onset Audio and Shift recordings and an E.P. in the works for Shift he is putting in work in the studio!

Somejerk- Miami
Smile For Camera/ Scratch Acadamy

Growing up in South Florida listening to everything from Miami club music to punk rock, it makes sense
that John “somejerk” Gregory would find himself in the middle of the Miami Bass Music Renaissance, becoming
one of the most in demand electronic music talents in the state of Florida. Winning the Miami
New Times “Best New Electronica Artist″ in 2010 was just the beginning of recognition from press, peers &
dance floors alike.
A graduate of performing arts schools, the son of a drummer & a painter, music has always been the main
passion for somejerk, often noting it as “the only thing that makes sense”. As one of the originators of
the Miami Dubstep movement, somejerk now focuses his energy on pushing all sounds bass heavy music,
with sets snaking through dubstep, drum and bass & moombahton styles cohesively, moving dance floors
from Austin, Houston, New York, Worcester, Los Angeles to every major city in Florida in the 5 years he’s
been behind the decks.

In 2011 somejerk linked up with the Scratch Academy of Miami and began instructing audio production,
teaching the ways of low end devastation through an exploration of the history of bass music and 10+ years
of production experience.
